School & Group Visits 2017

With many years experience of managing school visits, and most of our schools returning year after year, we understand your needs with regard to safety, risk assessment and value for money.

We have created an educational visit programme that we are always trying to improve a balance of fun, education and hands on learning that provides children with an engaging and memorable experience. We host School & Group visits (minimum entry charge per trip 75.00 Excludes extras) during the Spring and Summer terms annually. Special Needs Groups should contact us with their requirements. Pre booking is essential.

  • 1 hour Fun Barn play session - 2 per child
  • Tractor & Trailer Rides 2 per child/adult. (Minimum 15 people. Minimum Ride charge 30. 1 adult rides FREE to supervise.)
  • Bags of animal feed - 25p each
  • Ice Lollies - 60p each
  • Goody Bags - from 40p each (SLFP items).

** Tractor Trailer rides and other activities may vary dependent on weather and ground conditions

Additional Information
Once you make a definite booking with us (you can leave a booking provisional for up to 1 week whilst you arrange your transport) a Confirmation Booking Form & Information Sheets will be emailed to you thus securing your slot with us. Please read all information prior to your visit to us.

Additionally, our Cancellation Policy will come into effect: If you wish to cancel your booking a fee of 75.00 will be charged; however, no charge will be made if you need to rearrange the date of your visit - subject to availability. If you cancel/re-arrange within 3 weeks of the date of your trip, the full amount will be payable. Please note: the full amount due will be based on the numbers you have booked in. Strike action is included in this policy. A booking made by you confirms acceptance of these terms.
  • 2% charge to use a credit card, free to use a debit card.
  • Payments not received on trip day will incur a 25 per day late fee.
  • We reserve the right to charge a 25 administration fee for multiple alterations.
Itinerary - Once we have welcomed your group onto the site on Trip Day, your invoice has been settled and we have shown you your barn/classroom, Farmer James will advise you what time your Baby Animal Talk will be (BATs are usually before lunch) and the times of any other activities you have booked (1 hour indoor Fun Barn play can be before or after lunch; Tractor & Trailer Rides are usually after lunch). There will be free time for you to enjoy the facilities on the Farm in smaller groups independently.

The maximum capacity at any one time on the Fun Barn equipment is 175 persons. Please note we may add small schools/groups together. Children must be supervised by accompanying adults during play.

Public Liability Insurance of 5m is held with National Farmers Union Assurance, Policy Number 080X2787226 annual renewal date May 5th.

We are accredited by CEVAS (Countryside Educational Visits Accreditation Scheme) and are members of FFS (Farms for Schools), FACE (Farming & Countryside Education) & NFAN (National Farm Attractions Network).

We comply with all aspects of current Health and Safety Executive recommendations contained in the following publication: "Preventing or Controlling Ill Health from Animal Contact at Visitor Attractions". You can download a copy from this link as part of your risk assessment and site pre-visit process. Pre-visits to perform your own Risk Assessment and recce the site must be pre booked.

Payment is required on the day of your trip by card, counted cash, BACS or cheque payable to JW&DI Wainhouse.

First Aid Facilities are available. However, schools and groups should bring their own medical supplies with them on their visit.
